Mercedes-Benz
The Mercedes automobile was first marketed in 1901 by Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft (Daimler Motors Corporation). It was actually created by an Austrian automobile entrepreneur who worked with DMG and created the trademark in 1902, naming the 1901 Mercedes 35 hp after his daughter Mercedes. The main customers for the new Mercedes included the Rothschild family and other well-known personalities including US billionaires Rockefeller, Astor, Morgan and Taylor. The first Mercedes-Benz branded vehicles were produced in 1926, following the merger of Karl Benz's and Gottlieb Daimler's companies into the Daimler-Benz company and eventually the company was renamed to Mercedes-Benz.

If we fast forward to the Mercedes-Benz of today we will see that although the car has evolved, the workmanship that is put into each vehicle has remained the same for over 100 years. Did you know that they employ one inspector for every 11 workers and they are paid to criticize everything in sight, as much as they feel is needed, to get the final stamp of approval. Do you know of another car that is welded in 10,000 places? If so then let us know because as far as we know only the Mercedes-Benz can make that claim to ensure that there are no bolts that will work loose causing rattles, squeaks or groans as the miles add up. Each Mercedes-Benz has a fully independent swing axel suspension system to ensure that the road handling is firm and stable regardless of conditions. When you add that to power disc brakes on all four corners that are independent front and rear, you can be sure that safety is paramount. If you ever wondered how they ensure a balanced ride then you might be interested to find out that all the coils springs are a matched set. How about corrosion? Well you will be glad to know that prior to painting each Mercedes-Benz is dipped in a primer bath that is rich in anti-corrosion materials that seep into every nook and cranny. After the final spray of permanent plasticized undercoating is applied, not even a mountain of salt could get through to the metal. We could go on and on about the tires, the interior, the special automatic transmission, the unique ventilation system, the shape of the seats, the enhanced power steering and the timeless body styling but we think you get the idea that the Mercedes-Benz of today is quality through and through just like this example of the smallest Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class.

Here's a fun fact:
Fashionable styling will always attract some prospective buyers but a Mercedes-Benz only changes designs when the new model represents a significant step forward in technical achievement. So, we are in agreement that the Mercedes-Benz is fun to drive and a pleasure to own but how does it stack up against the competition, let’s take a look by comparing the CLA-Class model to others in this class:

As you can see from the table that the Mercedes-Benz is not the leader in every category but it leads the pack where it counts. If you measure your vehicles based on overall quality, attention to detail, workmanship, safety and dependability, then you cannot do better than the Mercedes-Benz and it looks sexy too.
